This weekend we took Maggie to Huckleberry Railroad to see
Thomas the Train as a reward for her potty training progress. Maggie will now go potty without being asked –
she just trots over to her potty and does her thing. I’m so proud of how far she’s come! We just have to work on #2 and we’ll be set!
Thomas the Train was a really fun time! We met up with Amy, Rex and Will and went for
a 40 minute train ride. There were a
bunch of activities to do afterward, though I think the ferris wheel might have
been her favorite. Evie came along for
the ride, but was not particularly impressed by anything.
This was Maggie's reaction to seeing Thomas for the first time

Maggie was pretty excited when the train started moving
I asked Jamie to cleanup the dishes after dinner last night while I got Evie changed and fed... this is what I came downstairs to:
Exploring her creative talents
Yup, get right in there
I love how much babies sleep!
We made personal pizzas at home, which I think Maggie really enjoyed. This will have to be a weekly staple in our house!
I will show you how to make a delicious pie!

Evie is old enough for the exo-saucer! Love this thing, though the songs haunt my dreams
Evie had her four month checkup last week, and is doing very
well. The only milestone she didn’t
reach was rolling over… she is getting pretty close though! She is still in the 97th percentile
for height and weight (16 lb, 6.5 oz).
The doctor said we can start introducing baby cereal, so we gave her the
first taste a couple nights ago.
This video is pretty boring, but I needed to capture her first bites! Try to ignore Maggie in the background...
She is getting a little better, but there is still a lot of
food falling out of her mouth! Evie’s
hands have to be doing something whenever she eats… this is not such a good
thing when dealing with cereal because her hands are on her face, then rubbing
her eyes and ears…. cereal everywhere!
I can get used to this
I needed a bath after that!
Jamie and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary this
weekend. He surprised me with lots of
little goodies around the house, and when I got it my car there was a little
bouquet of flowers with a note that said, “ Happy anniversary! I had flowers delivered to your office! P.S.
You’re the delivery person.” We
had a fun night out at Jolly Pumpkin and Hopcat, and then we both slept for
about 12 hours because Jamie’s parents watched the girls overnight. I forgot how amazing sleeping in is!
Maggie continues to be an awesome big sister. For some reason we’ve started referring to
Evie as “Evie girl” whenever we talk to her.
Evie lights up whenever she hears Maggie’s voice.

Evie had her first day of daycare today, so it was a rough
morning for me. Even though I dropped
all her things off last week, no one seemed to know she was coming this morning…
it was a bit hectic and made an already difficult morning much worse. Thankfully I know she is in good hands based
on Maggie’s experience… It can only get better from here!
I'll be fine, Mom
Last night was Bishop Foley’s welcome picnic. We all went, had ice cream, played some Frisbee
and then passed out in bed afterward.
Maggie’s bedtime has shifted from 7pm to 8pm over the past couple
months, but on weekends it seems to be closer to 9pm. She loves it, but is a cranky-pants the next
morning!

Saturday we went to an open house and got to see a bunch of
Jamie’s buddies from high school. There
was a bounce house, young kids and ice cream… Maggie was quite happy.
Life is a lot different since 2002!
Ice cream daze
We went to see Daddy play softball earlier in the week. Baby Hazel was there too, and all three girls
had a swell time together. Afterward we
got ice cream. As I write this post, I
see that ice cream has been mentioned in three paragraphs… we have an addiction that needs to be addressed…

Evie is starting to play with toys more and more. She really likes the crunchy noises.
