November Catch-Up

I'm a little behind on here, so this is a big dump of all the fun times we've had the past couple weeks:

Ready for turkey day!

My birthday!  I turned 33 earlier this month, and had a really nice weekend with the family.  Jamie took me out for a great dinner, and had some special birthday gifts for me!  Maggie and I went on an adventure walk around the neighborhood, and had fun raking leaves too!

33 is going to be a good year!

Enjoying a beautiful fall day

Last weekend we celebrated the marriage of our friends Lisa and Patrick.  We had a wonderful time, and got to spend some time with friends we don't see enough of!

The day before Thanksgiving, Maggie's school has "VIP" day, where each student can bring a special very important person to school for mass, snacks and to show off their school.  I got to be Maggie's VIP (mostly because I filled out the form), and we had a very special day together.

We spent Thanksgiving at the Odglens house.  We had a delicious early dinner, the kids had a great time, and we got home early enough for a regular bedtime!  Success!

Yesterday we had plans to meet our buddies Erin and Dan (from Maryland) with their son at Detroit City Kids.  Unfortunately we both overlooked the fact that there are two locations for this establishment, and each family ended up in a different place.  We decided to stay there with the kids and had a really great time, and then got to see Erin and Dan for dinner later!

My parents are watching the Rabine kids this weekend while the parents get some sun down south.  We met up at the Flint Children's Museum today and all five kids had a great time.  It was a really fun place!

Sarah Turns 1!

We celebrated baby Sarah’s first birthday this weekend!  I swear, this is the happiest little baby girl in the world – nothing phases her!  The kids had a fantastic time playing together as always.

It's my birthday!

Maggie wanted a picture with Luke.
Luke said, "smile like we are getting married."

I love this picture of all the kids eyeing the cake.

Hi there sweet lady

Building stuff

I met with Maggie’s preschool teachers for conferences last week, and received a very good report on my girl.  They had a lot of positive things to say, and noted that she has all the skills and smarts she should have at this age.  Throughout the meeting they mentioned Maggie’s kindness towards other kids several times – this makes me prouder than anything else.

Poor Evie has had a rough start to the week.  We took her to the pediatrician, and all her tests came back negative.  The doctor was a little confused, but it seems like a really rough cold mixed with some new molars.  On the bright side, my little busy-body wanted a lot of cuddle time.

Maggie has been really patient and adaptable to her finger splint… unfortunately she’s a kid… so the foam lining is covered in all sorts of gross food stains, and has been half picked apart.  She goes back to the doctor next week, and hopefully will be healed up!

Halloween 2016

It was another fun Halloween for the Donoghues.  Maggie dressed up as Izzy from Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and so Evie was a parrot (thanks to my mom for the costume!) and Jamie and I were pirates too.

Happy Halloween!

We went to Grandma and Grandpa’s and trick-or-treated in their neighborhood with cousin Will.  They all had a good time, and thankfully had enough after about 45 minutes!  I didn’t think Evie would be very interested, but she followed behind her big sis and cousin to every house.

Always on the move!

Maggie had a costume “parade” at her school earlier in the day.  I surprised her by showing up to watch, and she shrieked and ran out of line to give me a hug… I will miss these days of total affection!  We got to have a doughnut hole and hang out for a little bit before she went back to class.  I even got to see the class perform their debut hit, Five Pumpkins:

Acting tough with Batgirl

We did pumpkins on Sunday… I did the simplest one ever, but Daddy did some pretty awesome ones for the girls:  Maggie got Doc McStuffins, and Evie got Elmo.  They “helped” us as much as they could…
