New Home?

Well our life has been extremely chaotic these past couple weeks!  We finally found a house that we love - in Royal Oak, first-floor laundry, four bedrooms, 2.5 baths, attached garage AND A POOL!  So we made an offer and then spent a week of non-stop cleaning and purging to put our house on the market.  Now we wait... and wait... very hopeful that everything works out because I don't ever want to go through it all again!

Thanks to our parents we've been able to keep the kids out of the house and keep things clean!  Lots of park time, playdates, soccer, etc.!  Evie's best friend Cece invited her along for a special outing with their former preschool teacher (it was an auction item), so they got slurpees, pizza and fun at the park, plus a ride in her adorable convertible!

Maggie was pretty jealous that she couldn't go!

I love these two imaginators

Another after-school playdate with Evie's bud

Maggie was so excited that her team finally played
Nora's team!

We got haircuts last weekend, which was a fun little outing.  Maggie decided she wanted a "bob" haircut, I convinced Evie we were only getting a trim (of like 3 inches, but she didn't seem to mind), and Ben did great for his first time at a hair salon!

Short and sweet, just like Maggie

Much easier to brush her hair now!

He cried for 30 seconds, and then he was fine!

We celebrated Grandma's birthday a couple weeks ago!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Grandkid photo... par for the course!

We also celebrated my goddaughter's birthday last weekend!

Happy 7th Birthday, Claire!

She and Evie have a special bond

Maggie learned some new baseball skills

She's a jolly good fellow!

Some others:

Grammer was nice enough to walk the girls to the Dairy Bar
with Evie's class after school one day

Maggie had to provide a recipe for her class'
cookbook, so we experimented with wrapped hot dogs

Actually pretty tasty and she did great!

Maggie's First Communion & Mother's Day

Maggie's First Communion was on April 24, and it was a very special day!  She was nervous about it all week, but also very excited.  We dressed her up in all her finery (thank you, Grammer!), including her matching face mask!   She was decked out in gold earrings from Grandma, a pearl bracelet from Grammer and an engraved necklace from us... fancy!

Who's teaching whom?

One day we will get a nice family photo.  It was not this day.

Grammer and Pops

Each kid sat with their own family, and it was nice to be with Maggie to help keep her calm.  Ben was an angel throughout mass (mostly thanks to the grandparents entertaining him)!  Our priest came to our section of the church first, so Maggie was the very first kid to receive, and she handled it with grace!  We practiced a few times at home to figure out how to remove her mask and not drop it!

The other moms call this the "college roommate" photo...
we'll see, so far Maggie wants to live at home forever

Afterward we had everyone over for an early dinner and cake!  It was awesome to have the family all together!

(like she's mentioned it several times)

Maggie's favorite - carrot cake

This cutie cracks me up

My goddaughter Emily also made her first communion the next weekend, so Maggie and I got to join in the special day (Maggie was psyched to make her "second communion").

The family on a gorgeous day!

Congrats, Emily!

I'm a little behind as usual, so I also have Mother's Day photos to share!  Jamie spoiled me on Saturday with breakfast, doing all the housework and groceries, and taking me furniture shopping (which is exciting for a gal like me)!  On Sunday we did church, then brunch at my Mom's with the Rabines.  Later on we had the Donoghues over our house for dinner, and Amy announced that she is preggers!! Yay!  Lovely day!

Mommy dearest!
