February Fun

The girl's did not have school on Valentines Day (they cancelled school because so many kids were out sick), so their parties got pushed until after winter break.  They enjoyed their week-long break hanging with Daddy on his day off and then with Grandma the rest of the week.

I came to help out at Maggie's class party on Tuesday; I love that she still wants me by her side all the time, I know it won't last!

Checking out her loot

Jamie took the kids to the park over the weekend on an unseasonably warm day:

Hi darling

Note to husband - mittens and shoes are helpful in the cold...

The girls plus my dad

Oh you

Ben is totally uninterested in baby food now.  He only wants the real stuff, especially meat!  Seems like he's getting more teeth and is absolutely miserable right now - hoping it passes soon!  He is getting better at pulling himself up and cruising, and is making some progress with the walker.

Bathroom scale is one of his favorite toys

Evie can be very maternal sometimes:

Grandma had a special date with Evie last week while Maggie went to a birthday party.  I think she loved the one-on-one time and attention!  Afterward Grandma hung at our house so Jamie and I could get dinner!

Happy 1st Birthday, Ben Ben!!

Our sweet boy is 1, and wow this was the fastest year yet!  He is a fun-loving little guy who will not be ignored!  Ben crawls all over the place, is starting the plank, and sometimes pulls himself to standing... like all our babies, I assume it will be several months before he deigns to walk.  He loves cheerios and anything with tomato sauce, raspberry noises, peak-a-hit, and opening ALL THE DRAWERS.  He mostly sleeps through the night, but we still have a couple rough nights each week.

1 year old!

The party was a fun time, though Ben was NOT fan of the cake.  He refused to touch it or even lick the frosting.  I forced his hands into the cake thinking he would enjoy it, and I he was incensed!  So then we put him down for a nap and ate our cake instead.

Aunt Amy made Ben two outfits for his dino-themed birthday
"outfit" number 2 for cake-eating!

Hey baby

Take this paci and shove it!

Perfectly comfy

At one point we noticed it got pretty quiet downstairs.  Turns out all the kids were doing nail polish in the upstairs bathroom... also some makeup.  It got pretty intense!

Maggie calls this her "mermaid makeup"
(eye roll)

Evie did pretty darn good for a 4-year old!

Happy Birthday, sweet boy!
After lunch we played a game where each kid had to try and match the right kid to the right baby.  Harder than it looks - but almost everyone got Luke and Sarah's pictures correct on the first try!

The Daddy Daughter Dance was the same evening.  The girls couldn't go last year because of Ben's due date, so we felt bad skipping it again this year.  It was a busy day, but they had such a great time with their amazing date.  Maggie had fun with her friends, but made sure to dance with Jamie a little bit.  Evie (who used to be shy and terrified of something like this) would not give him the time of day - she had too many friends to dance with instead.

They had face-painting for our wonder-woman girls

Ray's Ice Cream = winning

I hope she treats all future dates this way

That's a keeper

Desperately trying to follow the teacher... as you can see,
no one is doing the same thing at the same time, lol!

Jamie and I both had night obligations on Wednesday, so my cousins Patty and Margie came over to watch the kids for a couple hours.  I failed to get a picture... but they showed up with all sorts of goodies for the kids.  The girls said they can come back anytime!

Window clings - awesome gift idea for kids!

Jamie took the girls to Lakeview to stuff lunches for the homeless.  They enjoyed themselves, but were not fans of the hairnets.

This clashes with my outfit
