Happy 1st Birthday, Ben Ben!!

Our sweet boy is 1, and wow this was the fastest year yet!  He is a fun-loving little guy who will not be ignored!  Ben crawls all over the place, is starting the plank, and sometimes pulls himself to standing... like all our babies, I assume it will be several months before he deigns to walk.  He loves cheerios and anything with tomato sauce, raspberry noises, peak-a-hit, and opening ALL THE DRAWERS.  He mostly sleeps through the night, but we still have a couple rough nights each week.

1 year old!

The party was a fun time, though Ben was NOT fan of the cake.  He refused to touch it or even lick the frosting.  I forced his hands into the cake thinking he would enjoy it, and I he was incensed!  So then we put him down for a nap and ate our cake instead.

Aunt Amy made Ben two outfits for his dino-themed birthday
"outfit" number 2 for cake-eating!

Hey baby

Splitting a cold one with Grandpa

Take this paci and shove it!

Perfectly comfy

At one point we noticed it got pretty quiet downstairs.  Turns out all the kids were doing nail polish in the upstairs bathroom... also some makeup.  It got pretty intense!

Luke's nail polish skills
Will went a little outside the lines

Maggie calls this her "mermaid makeup"
(eye roll)

Evie did pretty darn good for a 4-year old!

Happy Birthday, sweet boy!
After lunch we played a game where each kid had to try and match the right kid to the right baby.  Harder than it looks - but almost everyone got Luke and Sarah's pictures correct on the first try!

The Daddy Daughter Dance was the same evening.  The girls couldn't go last year because of Ben's due date, so we felt bad skipping it again this year.  It was a busy day, but they had such a great time with their amazing date.  Maggie had fun with her friends, but made sure to dance with Jamie a little bit.  Evie (who used to be shy and terrified of something like this) would not give him the time of day - she had too many friends to dance with instead.

Love

They had face-painting for our wonder-woman girls

Ray's Ice Cream = winning

I hope she treats all future dates this way

That's a keeper

A few others:
Dressing like a 100-year old for her
100th day of school

Praying for a snow day = pajamas inside out, white spoons under the
pillow, ice cubes flushed down the toilet and white crayon the windowsill -
all Jamie's idea...

Dance class - final pose

Desperately trying to follow the teacher... as you can see,
no one is doing the same thing at the same time, lol!
