A Merry May

This weekend my beautiful niece turned 2!  We had fun at the Frozen-themed party!  Maggie insisted on wearing her "Anna" costume for the occasion.  She had an awesome time playing with all the kids, and Evie just enjoyed roaming all over the place.  Yesterday was my sister’s birthday – shout out to Jody!

Happy Birthday, Claire!

Evie is very uncomfortable on grass...
she always lifts one leg up to get away from it

I literally turned around to get a paper towel
and Evie had eaten all the frosting off the cupcake!

We got Claire this little castle tent so she could have something
fun and girly... didn't stop Luke though!

Amazing Olaf cupcake cake!

Evie is getting closer to walking, but still no cigar… she keeps getting into the downward dog pose, and just can’t seem to figure out how to stand up from there!

Are you talking about me?
Maggie has turned into a lovebug this past week.  She likes to differentiate whether she “likes” us or “loves” us, and it changes quite often.  She always hugs her friends when she gets to daycare and when she leaves.

Evie really loves to sing along with us.  Every time I sing the notes from the Little Mermaid, she does her best to imitate:

Mackinac!

This past weekend we went to Mackinac Island for a super quick trip!  We went to celebrate my MIL’s birthday and Mother’s Day, and all stayed at the Grand Hotel.  I had never been there before, and it was just fabulous!  We had an amazing 5-course dinner, and then drinks and dancing afterward.  The girls were a bit of a handful, but we still had a really nice time.  Maggie really liked dancing with everyone in her “princess dress.”

All the Donoghues

I had to play masses at St. Michael’s this weekend, so we had to rush back home early on Saturday.  I’m hoping we can go back later this summer to spend more time on the island.

We had a fun weekend around the house afterward.  Sadly Evie and I both caught a cold, so it’s been a rough start to the week.  Sunday was Grandma’s actual birthday, so Jamie and Maggie went to celebrate with the family while Evie and I shared germs at home.
