Welcome, Baby Violet!

Amy, Rex and Will welcomed baby Violet to the world on July 18th!  She is a very sweet little girl, with lots of hair!  The girls were pretty excited to meet her, but annoyed that we would only let them hold her for a couple minutes each.

So tiny!

Family of four!

We got to spend some fun time with Will while Amy and Rex got their bearings.  Jamie took the three kids to the Flint Children’s Museum, and then we goofed around at our house for the evening.  Such a sweet boy!

Friends forever

We had fun with slime.  Maggie and I learned that it
does not mix well with hair

We were able to see the tail end of Aqua Fest in St. Clair Shores last weekend - free pony rides, a petting zoo and a corny magician!  All followed by a delicious dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's, and a dip in the new pool!

Balloon animal.. that lasted 2 hours before it got popped!

I was happy to see the "tortoise and the hare" hanging out

The bunk beds were a huge success!  The girls really love them!  Maggie enjoys the “privacy” of the upper bunk, and Evie really likes being in her own big-girl bed.  They sleep really well together, and I think it’s comforting for them to have each other through the night.  Evie is doing pretty well with night-time potty training.  I usually take her once or twice through the night whenever I wake up, and that seems to do the trick most nights!

When you need to go to bed...

Here's a few others from the past couple weeks:

Pinata fun at cousin Hannah's birthday party!

Adopting toy puppies and making dog tags

Still being Daddy's "helper" throughout the camp day... poor Jamie

At least she's happy!

Finally got Maggie to eat a wrapped taco instead of
a la carte... big deal

Big Girl Stuff

This was a big week for Evie.  She went a few nights without any accidents, so we decided it was time to say goodbye to pull-ups!  She was so so so happy… unfortunately it isn’t going perfect.  But every night is getting incrementally better, so here’s hoping we can keep this up.  We also told Evie should could have a big girl bed, and that she’ll be sharing a room with Maggie.  They are both so excited (for now).  So we have a lot of work to do upstairs this weekend!

Big girl in the house!

Jamie and the girls went to Will’s birthday party last weekend and stayed in the pool almost the whole time (which means almost no photos)!  The girls had so much fun!

Grandkids

Sometimes I put my hands in my armpits, and then I smell 'em! Superstar!

We had a couple friends over on Sunday to grill and let the kids play!

Spinklers = fun

Trying to smile but not miss any of the cartoon episode

Come in Daddy, the water's ice cold!

Maggie treated us to a 30-minute performance of Moana songs

Mondays are Jamie's day off, and they usually go to the zoo. This week they went to the dinosaur exhibit!

Keep me safe, Daddy!

Whose got the better smile?

Say cheese, t-rex

They spared no expense

The girls love going to the splash pad by Grandma's house after camp!

I can just hear her giggling

Trapped!

Last Friday was superhero day at camp... we did the best we could:

Wonderwoman-ish, and super-dino-girl!

Just teetering... trying not to break it...

Also, here's some before and after photos of our kitchen... still needs some decorating, but I'm much happier with it!  The photos don't really do it justice... trust me when I tell you it was really gross and ugly before.

A reminder in case I ever starting thinking that renovation
sounds like a fun idea...

Check out that floor!

Smooth, non-gross counters and updated backsplash!
