Mother's Day and End of the School Year

Mother's Day was a lovely affair this year.  The kids worked hard to make breakfast for us and Grammer and Pops.  Ben cut the strawberries and handled the toast, Evie made scrambled eggs and Maggie made French toast.  My mom and I went to pick out some flowers afterward (my happy place) and then we visited with the Donoghues later in the day!

A beautiful day!

Hard at work

Happy Mother's Day, Grandma!

Mother and son

Maggie has had several orchestra concerts this year, and continues to improve on the viola!  She did a great job at their last concert.

We were kind of far away to zoom in...

Proud of our girl

As a 5th Grader, Evie had a lot of special events for the end of her time at elementary school.

Students vs. Staff basketball game - a lot of fun!

Sweaty but happy

Evie's promotion ceremony - officially a 6th grader now!

Proud of our smart and sassy girl

Squirt gun party to celebrate!

Evie's chalk art

I remember visiting this spot when she was getting ready for
1st grade here, how scary and new it all seemed

Last day of school!  Each year seems to get a little harder to juggle work and family, so I was counting down the days this year - looking forward to some downtime this summer!

Soccer is done for all three kids!  Maggie thinks this might have been her last season playing in rec, but is thinking about training to be a referee next fall.  Evie tried out for premier again and is on the black team next year.  Ben had a great season and still loves it, will continue playing next year!

Last day of rec soccer!

Ben's team

Grammer and Pops came to watch!

I love this picture

Do not mess with Evie on defense

I organized a tour of the wastewater treatment plant - super
gross, but super cool too!

Went to the Piston's playoff game along with
Dustin and his friend...

Sadly it was the worst blowout of all time...
I need to stop going to important games

Laser Edge officially closed this weekend - this
is where Jamie and I met, and he had to go see the
murals he painted as a teenager one more time

He put a holly bush in the intergalactic space

The start of summer

April = Baseball and Birthdays

April is always a fun month in our house with Opening Day, Evie's birthday, Jamie's birthday and Easter!  This year we did Opening Day with several friends, and it was a blast!

Pre-gaming with Justin before breakfast

Detroit!

Always a great time!

I didn't get many pictures of Easter this year, but we had a lovely weekend dyeing eggs, finding baskets, church and a family gathering at Amy and Rex's!

No major disasters this year - success!

He is risen, Alleluia!

Evie turned 11 in April, and had a jam-packed weekend to celebrate!

Happy birthday, Evie girl!
(that is a dirt cake)

We did a Gilmore Girls evening to finish the lastfew episodes of
the show - complete with pizza, Chinese, twizzlers, twinkies,
pop tarts and bellyaches

Evie's gift was a queen size bed and to get rid of
the "kiddy" rainbow on her wall - Ben helped

Jamie bought Piston's playoff tickets before knowing
the date of the game... ended up on Evie's birthday, so
she got to go with him!

Good luck charm

Evie also got to do a trail ride with her best buddy

The horses mostly behaved

Had to get Mochinut afterward

Grandma took her on a shopping trip for her birthday gift!

And finished with McDonalds

Jamie's birthday was a couple days later... adult birthdays are a lot more boring!  We all went to the Tigers game, which was a rough loss, but we still had a great time together!

Giant donut!

A rainy tigers game, but we had a great time!  The kids are all
old enough to just relax and enjoy some baseball, I love these outings!

Trying to make our ugliest faces - I think we succeeded!

Jamie took his mom to Florence and the Machine!

Maggie was featured in our city's art exhibit at
