Maggie had her first swim lesson this past weekend at Goldfish. She had a really great time, and I was so
proud of her. I could tell she was
anxious when I left the pool area to watch from behind the glass, but she just
did what her teachers told her and relaxed right away. She’s excited to go back, and insisted on
going to Grandma’s that evening to show off her new skills.
Checking out the competition
Geared up, game face
Very confident at Grandma's house
Evie currently has hand-foot-mouth disease (not to be
confused with foot in mouth disease), so we’ve had to keep her around the house
for the past several days. She’s been a
little fussy, but otherwise it’s not a big deal, just very contagious. So far, Maggie is… never mind, not going to
say it.
I've had better days
Not much going on this week, just have some photos and
video:
Pay attention, class
Evie loves scoot-walking on the tricycle

Claiming Will as hers
Maggie is obsessed with the turtles at Jamie's school, and wants to know if we can "adopt" one - her words
Maggie’s buddy Kate turned 4 this weekend, and we had a great time at her birthday party! There was a bounce house, so Maggie was all set! Evie took a while to acclimate to the grass, and spent most of the party climbing on and off the picnic table.
Caterpillars. Every kid's favorite part of the party!
Riding Kate's unicorn
Cupcake time!
So proud of herself for climbing the slide!
Mid-climb
I'm pretty sure Evie wanted to eat the caterpillar
Do I have to touch the grass?
My dear friend Becky stayed with us this weekend, and Maggie
was thrilled to find an adult with her same level of energy! Becky is an amazing photographer and did some
family shots this weekend – can’t wait to see them!

Even Becky's chalk is gorgeous!

We stopped at the Farmers Market this weekend - I just love going in the summer with all the fresh
flowers and produce. Jamie bought a
container of lady bugs, and he and Maggie released them all over our yard.
Woo hoo! Let's shop!
Hanging out downtown
Maggie loves to wish at the fountain downtown. She wished for "two bears and a perfect sunflower."
We had a really fun Memorial Day weekend! I wish every weekend was 3 days – it’s enough
time to do lots of fun stuff and still get all the boring chores/tasks done.
Out for a stroll
Who wants to party!
The girls enjoyed the St. Clair Shores parade with Grandma,
Will and Aunt Amy. Dairy Queen was right
across the street from our spot, so Jamie and I scooted through a gap in the
parade to grab some ice cream… I’m pretty sure this is frowned upon, but
was totally worth it!
Look, more candy!
Hanging with Grandma
Cousin fun!
Pool just got filled, and Maggie somehow convinced Daddy to go swimming in the ice-cold water
We’ve had some awesome weather, and spent a lot of time
outside playing. Grandma even blew up
the girls’ swimming pool to play in this week!
Taking a dip
Evie isn't really walking yet, but she technically took her first steps this past Sunday at Grandma's house (though it was more of a step-step-fall thing)! We tried to capture it, but not quite:
Life is really good right now. Jamie is almost done with work for the
summer, woo hoo! Both girls are doing
really well and are the best source of entertainment (followed closely by Game
of Thrones).
My favorite time of day with Evie is when I wake her in the
mornings for her bottle. She sleepily
pulls herself up in the crib and just snuggles on my shoulder for a
minute. It’s a really quiet and peaceful
part of the day, best part of the morning for sure!
Evie needs a coffee to get her day started right (just kidding, I swear!)
I really love bedtime with Maggie. We cuddle in her bed for a few minutes, and
she always has something silly to say.
We like to pick our favorite thing from the day, and I usually try and
tell Maggie something she did to make me proud.
We sing songs and then when I try to extricate myself from the room, she
begs me to rub her back for one more minute before leaving.
Jamie has a few bedtime songs that he uses with Maggie - here's her rendition of Golden Slumbers:
I’m going to miss these moments when they grow up!
Eat ya heart out!
Evie really hates when Maggie tries to

This weekend my beautiful niece turned 2! We had fun at the Frozen-themed party! Maggie insisted on wearing her "Anna" costume for the occasion. She had an awesome time playing with all
the kids, and Evie just enjoyed roaming all over the place. Yesterday was my sister’s birthday – shout out to Jody!
Happy Birthday, Claire!

Evie is very uncomfortable on grass... she always lifts one leg up to get away from it
Make a wish!
I literally turned around to get a paper towel and Evie had eaten all the frosting off the cupcake!
We got Claire this little castle tent so she could have something fun and girly... didn't stop Luke though!
Amazing Olaf cupcake cake!
Sarah just wanted to chill
Going for an afternoon drive
ALL the watermelon
Weeeeeee!
Exploring this vast new world
Evie is getting closer to walking, but still no cigar… she
keeps getting into the downward dog pose, and just can’t seem to figure out how
to stand up from there!
Are you talking about me?
Maggie has turned into a lovebug this past week. She likes to differentiate whether she “likes”
us or “loves” us, and it changes quite often. She always hugs her friends when she gets to
daycare and when she leaves.
Sister tackle!
Playing at Emily's house
Soccer on a trampoline - I'm tired just looking at it!

Evie really loves to sing along with us. Every time I sing the notes from the Little
Mermaid, she does her best to imitate:
