It’s been a hectic week in the Donoghue house! I think we had dinner as a family one night
out of five, and that is just sad!
Waffles-on-the-stairs kind of morning
Jamie had his annual horror film festival at the Main Art
Theater, and his students did a great job!
Every year the quality of work gets better, and I can tell that the
students really enjoy it. He actually
had to rent a larger theater because so many people bought tickets! Proud of my hubby!
Kind of a big deal
Film class
Jamie’s parents stayed with the girls so that I could go see
all the movies, and the girls were really excited to see them! Evie was over-the-moon to see Grandma, and
wouldn’t leave her side! Grandma’s arm
is starting to heal, but I have to keep reminding the girls to be extra gentle
around her.
I’m working some flex-time at work so that I can stay home
on Thursdays for a little while. I took
the girls to the cider mill with one of my co-workers in the morning… it was a
pretty terrible idea since it was cold, rainy, and everything was wet. The petting zoo was pretty awesome though!
Those are some ominous looking skies...
Nothing says fall like.. winter coats?
Baby chicks - Evie totally flipped out for these cuties
Evie had no fear of the animals, happily petting them and getting licked... Maggie was pretty happy to watch from a distance.
Maggie bumped her finger while running around earlier in the
week, and it was swollen and a little bruised.
It just seemed jammed, but after two days it was looking worse to
me. I took her to the pediatrician, who
sent us to the hospital to get xrays, and Maggie ended up having a fracture. Today Jamie took Maggie to get checked
out by a hand specialist. The doctor
gave her three HUGE shots that set her into a complete panic. After the numbing, he did some sort of voodoo
finger manipulation to straighten it out.
She’s was a total trooper, but was pretty freaked out. We’ll go back in two weeks to make sure
everything looks okay.

Tough girls get to have pancakes with Daddy for lunch
Evie likes to fly down the stairs now (as long as it’s her
idea):
Maggie had her last soccer practice last weekend. She still doesn’t seem very interested in the
sport, and asked about three times if it was over yet… so maybe soccer isn’t
her thing! This video displays her level
of motivation:
Side note - she actually got really involved once we took her hat and
mittens off, even had a couple break-aways!
My baby girl is a year and a half old! Jamie took her to the doctor this week for
her check-up, and she reached all her milestones. I would love to tell you her height and weight,
but Jamie somehow missed the memo on that.
I do know that she’s in the 80th percentile.
Who? Me?
Evie absolutely loves to sing, especially in the bathtub to
Ariel’s “ahhh” melody, and Elmo’s World theme song. She loves to do everything her big sister
does, gets unreasonably excited about brushing her teeth, and likes to spin
around a lot. She also seems to have
hoarder tendencies… holding on to three or four toys tightly rather than
playing with them… or perhaps she wisely expects Maggie to swoop in and grab
things.

Happy to play and keep baby safe
Evie can be very serious at times, and her daycare teacher says she has a great poker face. She's not a huge fan of having her picture taken - Evie is all business!
Try to watch Elmo
Evie is talking more and more every day… or is at least
trying to talk. She is a super happy
little girl, and we are all so in love with her!
Daycare smiles
Maggie is really into dancing lately, here's her busting a move, and Evie attempting to keep up (and making sure no one takes her jacket).

We had a crazy fun weekend celebrating the big wedding, and Maggie was thrilled to be a flower girl!
The bride and her flower girl
Friday was the rehearsal dinner, so Uncle Bobby watched the
girls while we went to dinner at Wright & Co. – yum session. The girls had a great time, and Maggie
apparently spent all night saying, “Uncle Bobby, can I tell you something?” and
then launching into a story – it’s her new phrase now.
Taking notes
Hop scotch (or hot skopch as Maggie calls it)
Saturday I took the girls to soccer in the morning, and then
we came home to get ready for the wedding.
I have never really learned how to do much with hair, so I was pretty
darn proud of myself for putting together this bun:
Bam!
I sprayed a pound of shellac and stuck 10,000 bobby pins in
her hair – stayed relatively neat throughout the day!
Jamie and the guys “got ready” (aka chilled out and then got
dressed in 10 minutes) at our house and Maggie and I went to pick up the lovely
bride and her sister, and to get some photos taken. Evie stayed home with Uncle Jason and had a
nice, chill evening.

Still not as tall as Daddy
The wedding was at the Jam Handy downtown, which is an old
warehouse converted for fun times!
Everything was really beautiful!
Maggie took her flower girl job very seriously, and took approximately 3
minutes to walk 40 feet down the aisle, selecting just the right amount of
flower petals to place every few steps.
It was very precious!

Marriage! Yay!
Congrats Andy!
I was very
proud of my little girl – she had no nap, had people in her face all day, and
maintained a very sweet attitude the whole time. There were also lots of snacks.
My lovely daughter. Eating a pretzel.

Most of her photos look like this because she couldn't stop dancing!
Party time
Our amazing friend Julie came to pick up Maggie and took her
for her very first sleepover at Kate’s house!
Maggie has a really wonderful time, and it sounds like everything went
well! Kate and her sister put on
princess dresses so they could all be lovely ladies together.
This past weekend we received four free tickets to the U of M
game against Wisconsin!! While not
totally geeked about taking our 1 and 3 year-olds, we decided it was too good
of opportunity to pass up.
Go Blue!
Ugh, I just love going to games there. The crowd, the band, the cheers, the fight
song… so great!! Maggie was pretty good the whole time. Evie was a little cranky
because we skipped most of her nap, but even she was pretty cool. We had to leave during the 3rd
quarter, but it was a really great time!
I will now wait 10 years to bring them to another game.
Attempting to get a family shot... Evie wasn't having it
Are you two related?
Still not having it

Love!
Hail!
Smiles all around
First game! (Evie did not want to pose with her certificate)
On Sunday we did church and the parish picnic. During communion, Maggie ended up right next
to one of her best friends from school and was so excited. Right in front of Fr. Gerry, she hugged her
buddy and told her, “I love you.” At the
end of mass, Fr. Gerry asked Maggie to stand up and wave and then told everyone
the little story, saying it was a beautiful image in front of the
Eucharist. Maggie thought she was pretty
special, whispering, “is he talking about me?!” and giggling. The whole thing was adorable.

We are getting ready for Andy and Katie’s wedding this
week! Jamie is the best man and Maggie
is the flower girl!
