Baptism

Margaret Grace was baptized yesterday at Guardian Angels Church.  I like that they baptize during the Mass instead of afterward at our parish – it really feels like they are welcoming a new member to the community.  I don’t know how we lucked out, but Maggie was a complete angel.  She didn't cry at all during mass, not even when she was dipped into the water!  She had her diaper off for probably 3 minutes, and I was so scared that she would give Fr. Gerry a little surprise.  Thankfully she waited until she was in Mommy’s arms before… well… anyways, it was wet, but not too bad!  We put her in the Rabine christening gown, which is as old as my big brother John (that’s rrrrrreally old!).

After mass we had a luncheon at the house.  Slow’s BBQ catered the food, and I was really happy with the result!  So good!  We got to see most of our family, some close friends, even Erin and Dan!  The only thing that I totally screwed up was taking pictures… I was so busy trying to keep everything running smooth that I forgot to take any family photos!  Epic fail!  I took a few towards the end, but Maggie just wanted to be out of her gown by that point!

Ugh, Maggie is not sleeping well anymore.  She wakes up 3 or 4 times each night now, and it’s really starting to drain us.  I think we need to try letting her cry it out… I have a really hard time not going to her, but it’s probably time to start fostering some independence.

Made in Detroit (not technically, but close enough!)
Maggie is getting pretty good at holding her bottle!  She still needs a little guidance from time to time, but she can probably do 90% of the feeding on her own.

Nom nom nom
That’s all my sleep deprived brain can come up with for now!

Growing up

Maggie must have gone through a growth spurt - it seems like clothes that fit her a week ago are all of a sudden too tight!  We had a great week: lots of smiles, lots of drool, lots of poo!

Army crawl... sans crawl
Maggie is talking a lot more now, and is very into blowing spit bubbles.  Hands are now the best toy of all - she loves grabbing at our moving fingers, keeps her entertained for a long time!  She's also a big fan of grabbing faces, especially noses.  So far, this is my favorite age.  She's so much fun to be around!

It's been a while, so here's a bunch of photos:
Snugglin with Mommy

Hanging with Daddy
Dropping some beats... or spit... or maybe talking??

I can grab stuff now!

I want to be a crazy scientist when I grow up!

I'm okay with tummy time now!

Maybe I'll have hair like Mommy

4-Month Checkup

Maggie had her 4-month checkup yesterday:

She is now pushing herself up when on her tummy, laughing and interacting, babbling more, and reaching to touch things.  She met all the development milestones, yay!

Our little girl grew a lot last month - from 12 lb 11 oz to a whopping 15 lb 5 oz!  She is now 25.25” long.  75% for weight, 90% for height and 50% for head circumference.  I was concerned when I saw how much she weighed, but the doctor says we are feeding her the perfect amount and there is nothing to be concerned about.

Yay, I'm healthy!
We also went to the orthopedic doctor this week, and Maggie can now be out of her brace for 8 hours each day!  It’s actually a total pain in the neck for us because it takes some time to put them on, and now we have to do it 2 or 3 times each day.  I’m happy though, it’s a great milestone!  So far she doesn’t seem to mind when we put the brace back on, but I’m sure she’ll realize that she’s not as free soon!

Check out my feet!
Maggie has started watching us carefully when we eat food, so I know she’s starting to make the connection.  We’re going to hold off until at least 5 months to start any solid food.  Our doctor said that food allergies have risen dramatically when they told parents to hold off on high-allergy foods until a certain age, so she told us not to worry about trying specific foods (except peanut butter, since it’s a choking hazard).

Maggie goes to bed around 8pm every night and we get her up at 6:45 most mornings (except when we’re lazy on the weekend – we just bring her to our bed for another hour or so in the morning).  That girl will continue sleeping forever if she’s snuggling with Daddy!

We may have a future dancer on our hands... or possible leap-frog champion:

I think she is trying to get her pacifier in this video... or maybe she just want to munch something... anything!

Eat 'em Up, Tigers!

Happy Opening Day (for the Tigers and Jurassic Park)!
Hanging with Daddy to watch the Tigers
Spending time with Uncle Justin on Easter
Uncle Jason has the best jokes!

The whole Russo family came over to meet Maggie on Thursday.  I think she liked having some younger people around!

I know I have way too many bath photos, but they are just my favorite, can't resist!

Jamie took Maggie to the D.I.A. this week to do some recon for a future field trip.

At the DIA with cousins Sue and Ryan!
I don't know if I'm as into art as you are, Daddy
This is my friend, Sophie Jr.!
I can't believe the Tigers re-signed Valverde...

4 Months!

I'm four months now!

Maggie is four months now!  She has a lot of personality now and is more fun everyday!  It's been a crazy week, so I'm going to keep it short and sweet tonight.  We have a very important day tomorrow - Cuz and Perry are getting married!  I'll upload more photos soon...
