Spring?  Hello?

I am sooooo ready to put away the winter coats and hats!  At least it's a little warmer outside.  Jamie took the girls to the park after school last Friday:

Alain was coaching the Foley tennis team, and gave Maggie a few tips

Afterward we all met up for PIZZA

When Irish Eyes are Smiling

Our little Irish girls

This year we celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a delicious corned beef and cabbage dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  The cousins had fun goofing off together, and Jamie and I split one whole beer... times have changed in the past few years!

Maggie's school did Peter Pan this year, so we went to the show on Friday.  Most of her friends from school were there, so there was a lot of shhh-ing throughout the play!  Maggie was completely entranced however, which makes me wonder if she will be a drama girl one day... Evie was adorable and cuddly, though also very squirmy!

Preschool buddies

Before the play we grabbed some pizza in Detroit so we could have a quick meet-up with our buddy Riz from New York!  Fun times!

Testing out paint colors for the kitchen... after this photo
she painted "Evie" above, but when you look in from the window, it
definitely looks like "Evil Maggie"

Maggie is really into Star Wars right now after reading through a kid-version of the book

Hockey Time

Grandma took both girls to see cousin Sue play hockey last weekend.  The girls had a great time, and Jamie and I got a nice little dinner out of it!

That's a pretty cool grandma

The kitchen floor is done – hallelujah!  We ordered the counter-tops, but it will probably be six weeks until they are installed, so we ghetto-installed the old ones to make due in the meantime.  It feels so good to have a functional kitchen again, and I really love our new flooring!

Washing and washing and washing the floor

Shoo-bee-ZOO-bee

We went to the zoo this Saturday on a crisp, sunny day – it was so great!  It was cold enough that very few people were there, but not too cold to be outside.  We also saw so many active animals!  It feels like we’ve been in survival mode for the past couple weeks trying to work on the kitchen (no it's not done) and keep up with regular life, so this was a much needed family outing!

Giraffe enclosure is so cool!

We thought the girls were old enough to go through
the zoo without a stroller...

We had some sore shoulders that night!

Wonder and awe (and awwww)
Explorers

Posing with penguins

Trying to scale the wall to the polar bears

Maggie really wanted a picture with the bear

Here's some other photos:
Fake sleepers

There is still lice going around at Maggie's school, so we
check all the hair vigilantly

All clear!

The girls got a ton of bows from cousin Betsy this week,
and immediately put on as many as they could fit

Happy Dr. Seuss week!
